Signs Never Sleep is a resource to help them decide on what their own personal "sign style" might be. We want to be a valued reference guide, and spark inspiration by a certain lettering style, texture, material, color palette or something as simple as a unique sign bracket.
Signs Never Sleep is here to help you see the possibilities, and assist you in deciding on what you would like your custom sign to look like.

What makes a great sign?
The creation of a sign needs to be seen as an artistic process. A sign is not a commodity, it is not something that can be purchased off of the shelf, and it is not "one size fits all". Signs are personal, and because they are personal, they are very, very custom.
A great sign can be made out of any material, painted any color, and created using any sign-making process. It can be a carved sign with 23k gold-leafed letters, a sandblasted sign with a hammered copper border, a hand-carved sign featuring a landscaped scene or a flat-painted sign including a photo realistic portrait.
We watch for the signs that demand attention and occupy a space that is greater than the square footage they measure out to. We look for the sign that jumps off of the wall and pulls you into a business for no other reason than the sign spoke to you in such a way that it infused a desire to see the business behind the sign. The type of sign that we like to feature on Signs Never Sleep captures the "essence" of a summer home and welcomes family and guests each time they pass by the sign which hangs by the door...
How do you choose the signs and sign companies that you feature on Signs Never Sleep?
I select signs that attract my attention, and the companies that do the same. There is no specific method that I use, and the criteria tend to vary widely from day to day. I might feature a particular sign because of its beauty, color, personality or because it is an interesting project. I might choose to talk about a certain sign company because of their body of work, or because they are approaching a particular product in a new and interesting way.
Sign companies regularly send me pictures of signs they would like me to show, and I also find quite alot of information off of the internet (of course). One thing that has started to happen just recently, is that business and home owners have started to send me pictures of their signs, and those are also fun to feature.
How should I submit a specific sign or our sign company to Signs Never Sleep so we can be featured?
If you’d like to submit a sign or sign company to be featured, I’d love to hear from you! Please send me an email to signsneversleep@gmail.com and include the following information:
1. The sign company's name, or a description of the sign
2. 3 - 6 images that you feel best highlight the company's work
3. Contact information and website
4. Any additional information you feel might be helpful
If I do decide to feature your sign or sign company, I will contact you for additional images and information. Oftentimes, it takes at least a month to respond as I get a ton of emails daily. Please get in touch!
What is "The Little Black Book"?
Signs Never Sleep's "Little Black Book" is a highly edited list of sign-makers - from small family owned companies to large. All of these companies are carefully selected and recommended.
How often to you blog and write articles?
I try to put up one new post every day, so there is always something new to read and look at. I hope to eventually blog at Signs Never Sleep more often, but I also manage Lincoln Sign Company, and as you can imagine, that keeps me very busy as well!
What does the future hold for Signs Never Sleep?
I want Signs Never Sleep to be one part blog and one part resource. A place where you can see terrific sign "eye candy" on a daily basis, and yet you will also find solid resources, vendor recommendations, great sign ideas, and so much more. I want Signs Never Sleep to be your go-to site when thinking about a sign.
I am always looking for ways to improve the site. If you have an idea how to make Signs Never Sleep better, send me an email at signsneversleep@gmail.com
